getting to know mirror!Wash
As a mirror, this Wash has some key differences from the real deal, naturally. While he's not a complete opposite, a lot of the differences are fairly drastic. For instance, Wash is a kind person who cares about people and wants to protect them. Mirror!Wash, however, couldn't care less about people. Every man for himself, that's essentially his philosophy--he's happy to leave someone else to get harmed so long as he can keep himself intact. He's aloof, too. Most people are beneath him and entirely uninteresting, and this comes across clearly in the way he behaves around them.
Wash is a pretty awkward person, not particularly difficult to fluster, and pretty humble. He seeks approval from his peers and those above him before he can really feel good about himself, in a lot of cases. Mirror!Wash has no problem with bragging about himself and the things he's done--or has supposedly done. He doesn't care enough about other people or what they think about him to feel remotely awkward around them and he doesn't feel the need to seek their approval for the same reason. Plus, he just thinks he's pretty great, anyway.
As a soldier, Wash is a fighter. A good one, too. He may be the supposed least talented on his team of Freelancers, but it's because they each excel in one area and because of this, they come off as pretty damn amazing. Wash himself is more a jack-of-all-trades; able to do all the things his team can do, and well, but perhaps not excelling in just one area or do any of them as well as his teammates. Mirror!Wash isn't a fighter. He likes to pretend that he is, and that he's fantastic at it, but really? He's terrible. He can barely shoot a gun. He talks a big game but when it comes down to it, he'll come up with an excuse to avoid showing what he can do. And in an actual dangerous situation, he's almost definitely going to run instead of stick around to fight. He lacks the bravery and the loyalty that Wash has.
In terms of the armour now, while Wash is kind of a dork and wears his almost all the time, often out of habit and maybe a bit of paranoia about what Wonderland might throw at him, Mirror!Wash rarely bothers with his. More often than not, he's seen around in casual clothes which, of course, can make him difficult to place as Wash's mirror. If it helps though, they have the same voice and Mirror!Wash's clothes are often themed around yellow and grey, sort of like how Wash's armour is grey and yellow.
